I like you're design really good. The menu is very clean, but also sweet to look at.

I dont like to use JS or vbscript either, we can agree on that... but its hard to avoid. I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633IC to be specific.

edit: It doesnt seem to be giving me a problem anymore

Thats because the images are probably cached now. But it really shouldn't have given you a problem, anyways. I'm using a modification of this rollover technique, which should work on most recent browsers.
