Hmmm...

The only Shapeshifter I'll use is the one in KPT6.

I suggest posting a VERY detailed description of your problem—aslong with what you've done to try to troubleshoot it— on the MacFixit message board. You might also try posting it at the MacCentral Forum as well.

Yeah, Bob, I know about Unsanity's ShapeShifter...I just don't feel like I want to use it. I'm OK with the look of OS X just the way it is.
