I dont see the link speed setting in my card properties. Is this only for a specific OS? or could my card just not have it?

Yeah, I have a router on the top floor and one cable running down to my room (down 2 floors) then I bought a hub so I could hook up my PC, Gamecube and a laptop when needed.

You should bring the router to your room and then have the cable attached to that.... hehe. Let anyone else who wants the internet to use your hub....
