Go to your Hardware Device Manager -->Network Adapters --> (Your ethernet card) --> (right click) Properties --> Advanced

You should see a setting that is for Link Speed and/or Duplex Mode.... by default its set to "Auto", try setting it to 100/Full instead. My first few pages wouldnt open, but after a few attempts it kicked back in. Pages like blink open now.

I think if you are on a hub or share with a lot of people it might not make a difference. Some hubs dont allow 100/Full.

(I am going back and forth with him on a thread right now....)
He also said to check what your modem runs at and ideally you should have your nic card set to that. I am waiting to see how to check that out.....

Device manager can be accesed one way by:
My Computer --> Control Panel --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager.... =)

You can detect what your modem is running at by the manual from the modem, or a if a hub has an auto sense on it.

All it did was start netowrk collision and then didnt allow my hub to access the router.

I've tried that in the past and it didn't help my network speed any. I already am getting 75mbps through my home LAN and thats about as fast as its gonna ever get. Unless I switch to gigabit ethernet.
