FYI, I am not grown up, unless you consider a freshman in college "grown up" but I do work. I work very hard teaching kids meaning 13 and below how to use photoshop and Frontpage. I do this to pay for the many bills that I have, and to get the youth in the community aware of technology, being called "rich" in a negative way really angered me, I accept your appologie but please dont think of a person that has "something" and wants something more as negative, because I payed/erned all of the equitment that I own. Having said that I do know of some people like you talked about that get whatever they want from there parents and this is not the case for me. Each person was brought up different with different values, the values I was taught make me work hard for my goals. I hope next time you make a "joke" you relize that a person can take it the wrong way.

Well, i only got a bit over 1 million, but that is on the steel mill thing, (forgot the real name) and it is also on the demo. I do not have the full game :D anyway. doom 3 is a great reason to get a great card. consider that the demo at e3 and quakecon were run on an ati radeon 9700. id software took that over a water cooled geforce 4 ti 4600! MJ seems to think that i don't need 768 megs of ram, but i say, if you can find something cheap, don't pass it up. did i mention that trent reznor himself is doing the sound system for Doom 3?

blecch. i don't like company built pc's. mine is completely custom built, which, however, can lead to troubleshooting frustrations.

As for you Michaelp, with only a geforce 2 in your system, the performance gain for upgrading to the new athlon 2700+ or 2800+ is going to be very negligible unless you get a new video card. And also, megahertz doesn't mean anything. it's how the architecture of the cpu is built. ever seen a 1.2 ghz athlon whoop the stuffing out of a 2.0 ghz P4 in everyday applications? (word, photoshop, etc.)

ever see a 1.4 t-bird (owned by me!:D) beat the stuffing out of a 2 ghz + p4? if not, i recommend you to www.hardocp.com
