I don't actually start classes until May 22nd, so until then I will be doing details like cleaning things, raking leaves, etc.

Raking leaves? Wow, that's interesting Dek.

Today I cleaned the stairwell and then wiped bird poop off of a couple hundred light posts. This is why I signed up for the Air Force!

Next thing you know you might be laying bricks, or doing sidewalks. Sounds like fun man! So how is everything going on your end?

Cheers!

I guess it's a mental challenge to do work like that...

Have you enjoyed your time so far?

Well I obviously did not enjoy Basic Training because it is Hell on earth. But tech school is much better. It's kind of like college. I'm sure it will be much more like it once I actually start classes. Until then I will be doing these little cleaning tasks to keep me busy during the day. It's not so bad though.

You still play WoW? What level are you? I haven't started playing again. Not sure if I will. Tons of people at the dormitory here play, but we don't have WiFi in the dorm, have to go across the street. Kind of inconvenient...

Hey Dek, hopefully you're having a good time man. I can understand the Wo-Fi stuff and having to go across the street, especially when across the street is a long walk.

I had a question though (Dek or anyone). At work, my department has an iMac they don't use because the IT guy doesn't think that Macs can run on the same network as the Windows system. Crazy, I know. But I'm not sure how networking works in offices like this and one of our supervisors needs the Mac to be hooked up because she wants to do some graphics work on there.

How does all this stuff work exactly. I mean I helped a friend hook up a home network for about 3 computers in his house, but I'm not sure how it all works exactly or which are the settings to this stuff.

Do they just log in and make changes or what?

*thinking*

99% of the time you just plug it in and it works. The only time it would be different is if they are using some weird firewalls and stuff, at which point you might need the cooperation of the IT person to get that information.
