all i'm looking for is a way to get the freaking "geocities" out of my web address.... so it will be like "www.lfty.com" tele told me that you can make your address like that in geocities but i need to know how.... and i'm saying if i cant change it from www.geocites.com/afguy91506/...... then i was just gunna pay for a web host.... but if i can do it with using geocities i will do that before buying a web host..... P.S. please put this as simple as you can so i understand you no posting a website to go to so i can get lost in it and not know what i'm doing.... kinda talk me through it if you dont mind thanks well i'm off to bed got school tomorrow see what ya'll said tomorrow peace AF |

I don't think you can do that at Geocities unless you pay for hosting from them - which is what Sidez was pointing at.

Like what Marble said, you can @ Geocities but pay them $8.95/month *plus one-time setup fee $15. That excludes the domain registration fee which you have to do separately. So what you need to pay for a domain enabled hosting is.. 1) Monthly fee for just hosting. Features varies from host to host and the amount you're paying them. 2) Yearly fee for your domain, who ever you buy it from. Price also varies. |

I know lazyroll has already said this, but i'd like to say it again. I've seen a lot of cheap hosts out there, but for the features you get, mediacatch is definitely the best. And they just got some better servers. :D www.mediacatch.net |

Try this site http://www.xnynz.com/ to get the web hosting and also get the domain name register, domain appraisal, online file folder, ssl certificate etc...
