Oh man !! Metal is bands such as Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Judas Priest, Kamelot, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Metallica, Savatage.........Etc.......

RATM aint metal in my ears but hardcore.....So are Limp Bisquit, Linkin Park and other bands alike them.....

How the heck could I forget Black Sabbath ??!! The godfathers of heavy metal !!

I'm probably a little off with my definition of metal I guess. I don't really know any of those bands (I saw Guns and Roses on Pukkelpop though :D).

But I certainly know what hardcore is, and it's not Ratm or any off the bands you mentioned there. Hardcore is disgusting really. Get the voice of the slipknot singer when he's screaming and play your guitars with boxing gloves and a million distortion boxes and you'll get hardcore. Try searching for the genre hardcore on Kazaa or something brr.

And Limp bizkit and Linkin Park and all that other crap 13-year old kids buy is called nu-metal I think. It's togheter with punkrock the most irritaring music ever made.

I like NightWish, Boy Hits Car, Coldplay, Weezer, Good Charlotte, Linkin Park... etc.. :D

I had a funny feeling we'd differ on a few things, GoodChristian. But, it's all good! Excuse me while I clarify:

*steps up on soapbox*

1. punk rock is a direct voice of the voiceless. It's origins in Great Britain in the 60's & 70's was a huge, huge musical movement. Whether you like it or not, as long as there are politics, there will be punk.

2. Rage Against the Machine is the greatest band in the world.

3. nu-metal - i.e. rap/rock, started in 1984 when Run DMC (2nd greatest band in the world) added guitars to their rap albums, Run DMC, King of Rock, and Tougher Than Leather (which features "Walk this Way" which you may have heard, and with a little help from MTV, revolutionized music. It still conquers the airwaves 18 yrs later). Public Enemy and Anthrax carried it into the 1990's with "Bring the Noise."

4. Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit is responsible for this current wave of crap that 13 yr olds buy. For this reason, he sucks eternally. That, my friend, we can agree on.

Who here agrees with me on the fact that Avril Lavigne is the product of MTV's desire to give people what they want and she is in need of serious medical attention. Not that her music sucks completely, but the girl needs help.
