Hi folks.... Wanted to start discussing my favorite subject in life (Yeah, even more a favorite than making graphics !), music. I am, if noone knew, a heavy-metal vocalist in a local band over here in Sweden. The band is called MONUMENT and we're heavily influenced by bands and artists such as Fates Warning, Iron Maiden, Nevermore, Ian Gillan, Halford and others..... We hope to release a demo in a couple of months.....Should be fun to see how that goes..... :D Anyway.....Anyone else into metal or something like it? |

I like Korn, Rage Against The Machine, Tool, and Godsmack to name a few. Iron Maiden is the only act I recognize in the group you listed. Old school Metal! How about some Black Sabbath? I had a roommate from Sweden (Gottemburg?) when I was going to Musician's Institute in Hollywood. He was attending guitar school and I was doing the keyboard program. I've never seen a bigger hockey fan in my life! He had also never experienced an earthquake before and it wasn't long after going through the Northridge Quake that hit a mile away from us, that he decided Sweden was a better place to be! Good luck with the demo. I engineered for over a decade in many a recording session before getting back (reads *forced*) into Photojournalism and Newscast Directing. Quite a different spectrum of career fields, aye? |

Hey 4-man, this is a longshot, I know, but I have to ask. What was your roommates name ? It so happens, that I have a mate who went over there to go to guitarschool in LA somewhere and he is a huge hockeyfan, it couldn't be...a guy called Toto, could it ? Well, I said it was a longshot. |

Or was it perhaps the swedish equivalence of Batmans Gotham he meant ? I mean everybody knows Batman's swedish. In english speaking countries he's referred to as an athlete (baseballbatman), but I think he's clothes do tell us that he wouldn't fit on a baseball field, so that's that... Oh...Yet an other of those hard to understand -posts...;-) |

Tool is the only metal I like, other metal is just *shiver* Or those nu-metal bands omg, they should be illegal. If you would call Rage Against The Machine and Smashing Pumpkins metal then I like them too. |

A Perfect Circle...they are not very 'heavy' but in my opinion are extremely musically talented rock artists.. I'm listening to Corey Taylor-Bother, pretty good song. I think he's proving a point that he can actually sing...with Sipknot, he just shreaks.
