I've been having an issue with my webhost ever since they changed the location of their servers. Before, I was able to type in a name for a folder on the host, and if there wasn't an index.html in it it would display the contents of the folder. Now it gives me a 403 Access Forbidden error. How would I go about to removing this protection so I can browse through the files in my browser?

I put up a list of .htaccess permissions, so search for it on the board. Its directory browsing you want to enable.

if you're not allowed to edit the .htacess thing or something like that, you can make a nice and simple PHP script to read out the contents of a folder. You can make it look nice too, with hilighting specific filetypes and even make your own cool icons or whatnot. :D

(calm down, moron)

the php idea would be real cool =)

You can always add or edit an .htaccess file. As long as you are on an Apache server that is.
