Need some advise on this splash.

Seems a little too plain. What probably can I do?

Or perhaps I should remove the blue/black mosaic and use a white background?

I dont think that the pixelated bg does anything for enhancing the depth I assume you are trying to achieve with the foreground. The bg is so flat that it kills the effect you have up front. I would try working on that.
