Logo for a promo, maybe an album cover.

I am brand-new to illustrator and know how to use maybe 10% of the tools. But I made this logo with what I know and I think its pretty good. Think of it on an album cover or whatever.

you should work into it more as an illustration....
eg- take out the text, make the illustration white onto a red background, maybe add some subtle grunge and i think it'd look like a pro piece. if anything change the font :D

Using transparencies in Ill is the same as PS. Just select which path(s) you want to be transparent and then go to the transparency .
window-->transparency.

Illustrator 9 and above has that option. If you are using 8 or 7 - no do.
