looks more like a nintendo RPG... then again, the cartoon bubbles are hard to follow.

Early RPGs were kind of like early pixel art because mostly all of the tiles/characters were done pixel by pixel. It's old school pixel art.

You should add more shading. It looks very flat. Unless you are actually using the tiles for a game, there is really no point in limiting yourself to do everything as a tile. You can add shadows to the buildings, and so forth and make it look a lot better. Unless you just want it to look like that... ...

Personally I think Mo0 is better at "pixel by pixel old school pixel art" You guys will probably see some from me too pretty soon ;)

Good luck... doubt it will be better then 8-Bit theater though. That comic is bloody brilliant.
