im not good at explaining things, but here i go. 1. start out with about 512x512 height and width 2. foreground color 60, background color 70 3. set burn and dodge to highlights 20% on both 4. use a 200 size brush and burn all accross the image so its a darker color 5. do the same thing, but with the dodge tool 6. then burn again and make it really dark (not black, but dark) 7. then dodge again, put some randomness in the dodging and burning for variety 8. crop a section of your choice. 9. burn 2 paralel edges with a size 21 brush(top and bottom or left and right) 10. dodge the insides of the burn marks with a size 17 brush 11. turn dodge highlights up to 50% with a size 1 brush, and make random marks around(scraches) 12. (optional) if you want you can get some custom gun scraches brushes for an enhanced effect 13. (optional) get the text tool and make it so it uses a marquee(or whatever you may call it) 14. type in some text, dodge and shade according to your light source 15. play with the brightness and contrast to get to your desired color 16. filter>sharpen 17. pray you have decent metal if you did it right it should resemble this: best tutorial i can make. hope it helped |
