A logo would be something you would put on a letterhead or a business card, something simple yet expresses your style. What you have created are more of a banner or sig type of images. In the first image, the text, 'gaming zone', should be in a more brighter color than your tagline. Mostly because of the reason because you want your visitors to notice the name first rather than a tagline. Some weird crap happens in our brain that makes us recognize or set our eyes upon a color that stands out of the rest of the background. Since the background color in this case is a dark blue, a brighter color would be the best choice, and vice versa if the background is light. For the second image, the background starburst seems to make the image a bit too busy, making it harder to read the text plus distracts the user from the original purpose of the image.

and the starburst effect behind text IS kinda overdone... try something a little simpler for a logo.... -- edit... thats better... make the main title a little brighter maybe... just experiment with lighting and such... i (for the most part) think of "logos" are simple statements of the site (or company's name) and maybe a tagline..... on a website then you can expand the complexity of your graphics.... like this http://home.san.rr.com/ojc/off_site/gamezone.jpg |

Oranjcrush has the right idea, but it's still not going to look all that good when faxed or photocopied (maybe OK on a golf shirt though!). But maybe we are just using the wrong terms here. MoOchan is right, this looks like a banner. So if it is in fact a banner and not a logo, then I like the 3rd one you posted.

also a note.... i (personally) think it looks better when a graphic blends in with its surroundings, (not an abrupt box around the starburst, etc.) try croping out only the blank space
