possible new splash

I dunno if i'm going to use this or not, but hey, it's worth a shot.

The site will be called Inhale well i dunno i was just messing around with good all photoshop for a bit and came up with this splash, critiquing is welcome

78K is a little large for a single page, especially a splash page, but the actual design itself is not bad. I like how the photographic *chunks* maintain their correct content placement eventhough the chunks themselves are displaced from the parent picture.

I'm not sure what the consensus is here for splash page sizes, but I'd shoot for about 35K unless you put in a preloader that 1) states the total file size being loaded and 2) gives the viewer the option to skip it and go right into the site.

One other thing, in 800x600 you don't see the *enter* button unless you scroll. I know you designed the site for 1024x768, but placing that enter button up higher would be a minor change that would be more 800x600 friendly.

thanks dude! yeh i know after i saved that file im like **** thats big! i have no idea, i will try to size it down a bit, sorry for the big size :( anyway, yeh i am going to design it for 800 x 600 instead because a lot of people use that res, so i will make the changes and post up after

lol looks nice and crisp, not sure if your 'because without it you're dead' tagline is very erm, fitting? nice tho =]

hmmm maybe crop it so the splash is just the size of the pic without all the excess bg? just a thought
