These are some of the Episode II wallpapers I've done, some are smaller for a site theme contest. I'd like to know what you think of them. Keep in mind they are collages (no funky interface polygons), but they each have their own specific theme. Wallpapers: Theed theme Dark theme 1 Spooky theme Contest pics: Dark theme 2 Action theme 1 Action theme 2 Theed theme I'm in particular interested in which you like better between the two action themes, I'm trying to narrow down my entries. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Action Theme 2 is the best, because it shows her sexy stomach. =P Sorry.. heh But I like it the best. Good job on all of them, they look very professional.

I heard they used some new digital format in filming the movie and there are about 20 theaters nationwide that can support it. The wallpapers are pretty hot. Where'd u get those pics from? |

Thanks for your comments. Yes, Sony and Panavision combined forces to make a (huge) screen-quality uncompressed digital camera, which is now being used in other movies as well (Spiderman one of them). Episode II was the first to use it. I think there are around 13 theaters nationwide that use digital projection, the rest have to use film transfers. :( I've been collecting a lot of images for weeks off different sites. I've been able to find some high-resolution images this way. Yes, DX^2 does sound kind of sad, but I was there at one time so I can't down him. ;) I do like SW though, especially now that Natalie Portman is part of the series. :D :D :D :D And yes, you better believe she has a very sexy stomach. :p I'm kind of surprised people like the action 2 theme the best, now I'm really not sure what entries to use.... |

Hey K-Dub, My favorite wallpaper is the Theed Theme. There's a weird texture thing going on with it, and I'm not sure if it's a result of compression, sharpening, or a Photoshop filter. But it makes the collage look kind of old. If that's your intention, cool. My personal taste leans towards photo-realism, i.e. no textures. For the contest pictures, again my favorite is the Theed Theme. I like the colors and pictures better, her facial expression is better, and the layout is more organized. I might do something with the text, like more layers, with transparency and blurs. Of the two action themes, I like the first one better. I like her angled pose better, and the fact that there is only one large image of her, as opposed to the two images of similar size in the second one. The circular pic adds an interesting element to it also. |

If you live in the NYC area, you could always go to the Zeigfield theater :P That's prolly the only one in the New York area that has it. I'd give you the whole listing but my bro took the Wired mag that had it.

what's up, Z-tek :D yes, the bottom landscape in the Theed theme was originally a small pic, so I had to enlarge it. I found that a straight enlargement blew up the compressed pixels and it looked very blurry and low quality. I tried to mask it by overlaying some sketch/paint/effect layers. Since I had to use that effect for the bottom image, I also used it for the top, but it doesn't show as much. In order to make it match I might try redo-ing it so that the landscapes are evenly textured. Theed as a planet has a very classic, organic feel to it, so I thought the texture worked, and I didn't have much choice anyway. I also decided to go for a paint effect on the two images of her, but I'm not so sure that's a good idea any more. Like you said, for this wallpaper I'd like to have more photorealism, so I might post an updated version. I will also try playing around with the text more. I just want to keep it simple and elegant, not with any crazy motion blurs or anything. Thanks a lot for the input. Later |
