Hey. check this out. please lemme know what you think

http://www.issaonline.com/navaqa/eyeball01.jpg

It was done entirely with native photoshop filters. I just mention this, because I was wondering have many people use third party filters heavily, and who likes to stick to the native ones? I don't have a problem with third party ones or anything, and i am not entirely sure why i don't use them. I'm just curious... Thoughts on this, anyone?

I think it´s a small piece of art, really!!

(It´s just that those veins look like they´re "swimming" inside the eyeBall...I don´t know if that´s on purpose but.....)

btw, I´m a nativeFilter-guy too.. :D

I agree the veinss look more like they are on TOP of the eyeball, not part of it. Too random. A filter is a filter. navtive or otherwise. If you are using something to randomly generate an effect chances are its going to look bad unless you know what you are doing.

You should work on making them look a bit 'cleaner' not so random, veins should be thick on the side of the eyeball and then slowly get finer as they head twoards the iris. Also they are generally going in the same direction.

Its still apretty neat looking image. Good job

hmm... yeah, i was trying to make it look like a transparent eyeball with those things floating around in it... vein like, but not necessarily veins. but yes! they could use work.

i didn't want it to look like a normal human eye, which is why i made the pupil all big and the color gold... and put it on some alien planet type surrounding. but anyway. thanks for the feedback, fellows

:P Even then you can't get away with it. Even aliens eyeballs have to follow some sort of universal eyeball logic :P If you don't want them to appear to be viens, then don't make them vien-like, and if you want them to be viens, more it more vien like. Otherise you confuse the viewer as to whate exactly they should be

I think its great ! Especially made with just native filters.

I have come to be a native filters man, coz of my goal that is to learn PS from scratch before getting in to "shortcuts", but I must agree with The DPQ, a filter is a filter, in whatever way they come. I just don' wanna use third party filters just now.

Third party filters = Ones you would download? Native = Comes with photoshop? Sorry, I'm not 100% hip on the lingo yet, heh. I love the golden part around the retina, it looks awesome. The veins do look like they are more on top, maybe if the surface of the eyeball was more opaque, so it looked like it was 'over' the veins. I like it though, I Note the shadow on the 'ground', many people forget to add that ;)
