Hi guys... Recently, I was entrusted the job of helping my band in school to design a poster for their upcoming concert... http://www.chs.edu.sg/~991d24/band.jpg Tell me how it goes. Thanks. Caution: It is 35 cm X 40 cm, 600++ kb in size. Rather big. |

I'll be a lil bit harsh but I hope it gets you to the right direction... To be honest.... If that were to be in my school's events notice boards. I wouldn't go up to see... Ok assuming that its the final poster 1) Images just thrown there to fill up the space.. Properly choose images, like the actual band photo, etc. 2) Work more on the typography 3) Its plain. 4) no details on the concert like date, who's performing and stuff 5) Cut down the image size.. 600kb is huge for something plain.. i believe it can be saved to 200-300 kb. I don't have picture of poster around my school. Look around SomethingLeet or TheRoot42. Lots of posters around. Hope it helps..... |

yeah i totally agree with sidefx. The typography is the thing that bothers me the most. Use other fonts than these... way to plain. But good luck with your redesign. |

just think of the music those guys play... is it rocky, is it romantic, is it metal? Maybe listen to some of their music and than start designing something... You would use different fonts for metal bands than for guys that make ballads and stuff... just try to fit the subject |
