grungy artsy image

made this when i was just playin around, i like it, but its kindof hard to tell if it looks good or it just looks crappy. so what do you guys think

Doesnt really look "grunge" to me either. Looks more like you randomly placed some grunge brushes on the canvas.

It does have potential though. Perhaps put a little more thought into it.

btw, where is the guitar?

ok please throw away your preconceptions about the image and just tell me if it looks good or not..forget what it should look like.. and thats what the images is of, its abstract

If I think it looks like crap, I will say "it looks like crap". However, I don't think it looks like crap. Instead, it looks more like what I said. Random brushes randomly placed with no thought given to their position.

Most "grunge" peices make you feel some type of emotion when you see them. It is this reaction that the artist is after. But I get no reaction when I view your peice. Not because you are "Bonamo", but because it doesnt appear that you tried.

You have posted other things here that had some type of emotion, but this doesnt. Im sorry your feelings might be hurt, but you asked for an opinion. Just because you don't like the opinion doesn't make it any less valid.

you completely missed what i was saying. i wasnt attempting to make an image that fell into the "grunge" genre specifically, i just didnt know what else to call it. the type of art that it is supposed to be is besides the point. it is not intended to try to be like anything anybody has ever done before, or make you feel a certain way. i like it because i think it looks exactly like an abstract painting that my dad has on his wall and not because i think it looks like something qtone or sidefx made.

i am not upset at your opinion as far as not liking the piece but more that you have stereotyped my image because i put the word "grunge" in the post title. i dont care what "most grunge pieces" do or look like, thought it looked kindof cool in an abstract way.

If you ask me i think you did a pretty good job....it looks pretty cool....i can see where people would think its suppost to be a grungy image...but its more of a charcole/old style black and white.....either way its cool....nice work man......
