95% Photoshop 5% Illustrator I also don't use any 3rd party plug-ins/filters for either program. Check it out here. Nifty swifty. |

Nifty swifty is right. You're really good with percentages.

Illustrator 10 actually. The new vector warping tools in 10 add a whole new dimension of speed/ease in making cool looking stuff. Illustrator is basically photoshop with a little bit harder to use interface, but its very easy to use if you know photoshop already. Most of the tricks/commands are the the same or similar for both programs. Yeah. The smoothness is basically just about 1 million masks and blending modes added together to get that look. I really only spent a few hours making this. Mainly by duplication/merging of layers like crazy to achieve some strange effects. And then a few strategically placed layers to make it look a bit more artsy and less chaotic and I was done. |

ahh.. yes.. i had adobe illustrator 9, and then we reformatted, and i haven't reinstalled yet. i suppose I will have to upgrade. i did find it a lot harder to use than photoshop, and i didn't really end up with anything spectacular because of that.. but that was awhile ago, and maybe now that i have a little better understanding of photoshop, that could help, abit, as you suggested. I'm not really sure how vector warping works, I will ahve to read up on it, because it seems like you could really get creative with it..

The vector warp tools in Illustrator 10 is basically illustrator's version of Photoshop 6's liquify tool. But its a LOT easier to use and you get instant results. Photoshop 6's vector shape layers, pen tool, and selection arrows will really help you learn how illustrator works at its most basic level. Once you figure out how to create vector stuff in Photoshop, its the same as illustrator. Illustrator even uses layers, masks, and blending modes, just like photoshop, but most of those functions are hidden or not as apparent as they are in PS's gui. |

How did you do the square bars in the bottom left corner? Overall looks very good. Nice choices of colors. |
