A while back I did this, and after fooling around with Cinema 4D for a while I decided to expound on that image and came up with The Cave. I was a little worried that text may not be clear enough, so in PS I embelished it a little with a Gradient Glow (in Eye Candy 4K) set to 'Multiply' and this is the end result. What do you guys think?

I know all this 3d stuff doesn't have anything to do with PS, but PS was what turned me on to this whole digital art thing so in my opinion all my work is related to PS in that sense.

the first image.. i didn't like. it looks too simple, and the text is just annoying, because the whole picture, or i suppose the top, has a crisp look to it, and then the text is kind of blurry.. the second pic is not too bad, but a little too much of the same color. i like the bottom right, where it really gives you a sense of perspective. the icicles should blend more into their base, they look like they are just sitting there.. not really attached to anything. the solid black line has to go too.. blur somehow, to show the change, but don't have a solid black line, it makes it look too perfectly arranged. my first glance at this one, i didn't like it at all, but as i started looking around, it got better. the third picture, your final, i think you should remove the text from the bottom right and put it somewhere else, maybe on the top.. just because you don't want to cover what you have down there up, because that part looks really good, i think. yea.. ok, that's all i have to say.. lol i hope i helped abit.

I got rid of the line, but I couldn't fix up the spikes cause I didn't really know how-I know what you meant I just didn't know how to do it (I don't think I could do it in Cinema 4D and I'm not sure how I would go about it in PS). I also got rid of the text in the corner- it wasn't there to cover anything up I just didn't want it blocking the scene. What do you think?

to blend the spikes into the base, use the smudge/blur tool together.. i like the bottom part better, except, it doesn't look as icy, AND you kept the text on the bottom... one of the best parts of it was the closeness of the bottom right corner, and you've covered it up.. lol maybe put some jagged edges on your ice block too.. the top looks much better, the curve is obvious, and it looks awesome.
