I've seen stuff like this thousands of times. I'm not even sure how to do anything truly unique in digital artwork, but if I'm a copy cat, I'm a copy cat. This is a purely photoshop piece except for two things. The big black lines that look like vectors, were vectors done in Illustrator. The white streaky thing in the center was originally a weird mesh of paths in Illustrator, but then Photoshopped to death and turned into a rendered looking sorta thing. No photos, no nuttin in here. The texture was self created. Masks and blending mode changes are taking place so much that even I don't know what is goin' on. I can't even begin to count how many layers this took to do. I'd say it numbered in the thousands (before layer merges, of course) and it still doesn't look like enough to me. So much crap is happening on screen that I couldn't even compress them to JPEG well. The one that's 1024 in width is 228kb, and the 800 width one is 162kb. Huge friggin pic, so be wary. Big pic Smaller pic. |

That's a very busy image... I like it pretty well, for a image of that style. I was disappointed in the type though. The rest of the image is really interesting and well done, then the text just kinda got thrown on there. Other than that though, it's very nice. |

Yeah. I don't have many fonts (well, I do, but I refuse to install any from laziness). Its just there as a signature. I didn't wanna use any standard pc fonts other than just one for my nickname. I may fade out the name later so it doesn't stand out, or get a new font for it. This pic is basically just me showing off that I can create wacked out abstract montages just like everybody else. UPDATE Re-did my text. Should look a lot better now. Also.... In case anybody wants to see, here's a pic minus most of the texturing on the top and bottom. |

I agree with deker. The image is busy, too busy. Slow down. When you use a ton of different colors, try to go easy. It a good idea to keep colors in the same "family". |

I do agree on the busy bit. Though that was also intentional to see how far I could take it before I exhausted myself with layer application. As for color mixing. I'm not all too sure on that one. The primary choices were Reds, yellows, and greens, with the inner image containing a bit more cool colors. If the colors are off, I could always change them if needed. |

When I say "same family" I don't mean every single color. You are using ALL the primary colors ( red, blue and yellow ). You can easily get good results if you take away some colors and just use different shades of red or yellow. Also there are no real focal point, if you tone down some parts of the image, you other parts will "pop" of the page. ( good thing ) |
