I've just started getting the hang of the pen tool and have used it on this maori design. I'll be changing the texture and maybe putting a greenstone inlay in some of the larger carved areas. Comments and criticisms appreciated. Carved Koru cheers |

Wow.. that was pretty nice. Perhaps a bit rough, but I guess you have put some time behind that one. Keep up the good work, and post it if you make some more. Would be nice if you could explain your technique a bit more. |

Are all the sharp lines from the pen tool? Such as the spiral? If you created all those lines, like the spiral, with the pen tool, you have far more patience than I ever could have. You only use Photoshop for the pen tool? Or did you use Illustrator or some other vector program? |

Thanks for the comments! An updated version is in the digital art section of the forum here. I used the pen tool for all of the design, although I do have to confess to a wee bit of 'cheating'. I couldn't get he main spiral done right, so I used the spiral tool in Freehand, pasted it into PS as a path and kept practising tracing over it till I got it as near to the original as possible. Cheers Marcus |

Ah-HA! I knew it! :D I was wondering how anybody could sit in Photoshop and draw a perfect spiral like that using the pen tool without going nuts. But it is a good shape. I like it. |
