Behold! My coloring skill!

This was actually a coloring contest for a now dead online video game magazine (GameGo!), but alas, its gone. The contest "probably" would have had me wound up winning, but I'll never know, because, as I already said, the website died.

So I guess I'll just take this negative and now use it to showcase myself a bit. Now I wasn't quite certain where this belonged, in "Graphic Check" or "Digital Art Showcase", but this one seemed the most appropriate since its not my own art, just my coloring.

And here's my colored version.

I created the color using plain vanilla Photoshop 6. No extra plugiins or nuttin. I was too lazy to drag out my Intuos, so I colored it using a mouse. Mainly by creating base color shapes, duplicating/darkening the same shape (for shadow), and clever use of masking. Highlights were added the same way. There is some wacky usage of layer styles in there (if you can tell what has a layer style applied to it). And there's a mess of gaussian blur going on as well. The background was using PS6's nicely done vector tools.

Like it? Oh well. I just wanted to show off since the contest it was colored for went kaput

nice work......are you working with a tablet?

I usually do work with a tablet, but this time I didn't want to drag it out. So I just used a lot of careful mouse-clicks to color it.

Oh man, I love it! I'm getting into coloring sketches myself lately, but I'm not nearly this good yet.

Wow, the left shoe (her right shoe) looks VERY 3D....looks as if I were actually sitting there with her. The shading and highlighting is FAR better and takes FAR more patience than I have...I salute you.
