Take a look at this design. Its just a test for a school project.
What do u think about it, what is nice and what is bad.

Its in danish so maybe u dont understand anything but nevermind just look at the design

It's nice.
Well, you can add a shadow or something to the menu bar. Now it looks flat and doesn't match well with the rest of the interface.
Also making grey surface under menu bar a little thicker couldn't be wrong.

BTW: Danish seems quite alike to English.

You might want to scale it back a little bit.


And I agree with the person that said adding shadows might bring it out a little
