heres a couple of pics I did during what happen on 9/11 .. first pic i did was a week after it happened and the 2nd one was a couple weeks after ...

i like the 2nd one better in that it show some type of emotion and the meaning behind it. the message behind the image is "united." and thats what the statue of liberty symbolizes .. united as one

Very cool. The first one looks nice because of the blending modes, but I think the lettering on the hand should be brought out more, I couldn't make it out. The second one is nice because, like you said, displays emotion. It seems to slap your point in the viewer's face. Nice work!
