newb@photoshop

hello all. my very first post.
i never realized teamphotoshop had a forum ha!
anyways, i made this as a wallpaper for my fraternity.
would appreciate anybody's $0.02 on it,
criticism encouraged to make it better..

i wanted it to look like the letters were coming out of the water..

It's a nice effort... They do look like they are coming out of the water, but perhaps you need to emphacise this a bit more in my opinion.

Actually I think the lettering in the image is perfect... You don't want it to be too noticable because well its being made of water. ;) At first glance you don't really notice them, but the ripple draws your attention to the center of the image which then brings focus to the letters. I think its a pretty good image espeically being your a "newb" :p
