He guys and few girls, last night I went to an Audioslave concert, of course I took some pictures. The place I went is called: Heineken Music Hall, a place for 5,000 people. http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3128.jpg The band that opened for Audioslave was Trail of Dead, I never heard of them, but they were pretty ok, being an emo-punk band or whatever. http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3139.JPG I Think the name of their band has something to do with a trail of roadies, their bass player knocked one of their roadies on the head with his bass. They got pretty violent and trashed their gear at the end of the set. All songs of them were ok, though the endings sounded like a huge climax. At the end of every song people thought they were going to leave and we would finally see Audioslave... Audioslave was just magical. The sound, their stage performance... everything. They played old soundgarden and Rage stuff too, totally excellent. I stood front row and got moshed around quite a lot, so taking photos wasn't as easy as I had hoped it would be. Anyway, on to the photos... I seperated the photos in photos of Chris and Tom. Didn't see a chance to take any good photos of Brad Wilk. Tom Morello: http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3157.JPG With his trademarked soulpower-strat. http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3162.JPG http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3168.JPG http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3170.JPG http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3173.JPG http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3176.JPG rock on! ;) http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3180.jpg I like this shot a lot! http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3187.JPG http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3191.JPG Scratching the strings, trademark style. http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3194.JPG Chris Cornell: http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3154.jpg http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3174.JPG http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3177.JPG http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3181.JPG With Brad Wilk in the background. http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3184.JPG http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3189.JPG Again with Brad Wilk. http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3195.JPG Up-close view. http://www.visualjoy.com/audioslave/PICT3203.JPG Playing guitar, all alone on stage. He was playing 'Fell On Black Days' and other Soundgarden songs. What can I say, it was a brilliant evening, that I won't forget anytime soon. Minse |

As always you seem to be in the right place at the right time--with just the right amount of disregard for rules--to get some awesome shots!!! Thanks for sharing! |

Man these are rockin' :D looks like it was an awesome show. When you say they played old rage stuff, did Chris actually try and sing like Zack de la Rocha? That might have sounded quite funny :P Looks like you got quite close to the front though man, for some awesome shots! |

Thanks for the comments so far! Duo flip, he didn't try to sing like Zack. First he went off stage, so only the old Rage-members were on stage. They played an instrumental version of Bulls on Parade. Than Tom Morello leaped into Sleep Now in the Fire and Chris sang along. It wasn't anything like Zack, but still it was great. He gave the song his own touch... In the end they played Killing in the Name Off. That sounded quite funny, since Chris didn't sound anywhere as aggressive as Zack. Most impressive of the concert was when Chris was all alone on stage, playing the acoustic version of Black Hole Sun, Fell on Black Days and Call Me A Dog. Just perfect... then he played I am the Highway and the other guys got on stage again and played along. |
