Well - they were pretty ratty and stinky. And I bought new shoes. And I'm rebelling against Nike and the masses by burning them. I like the symbolism of burning social icons. I dunno - I like fire, I guess.

I totally agree. but if that's the case then burn Nike's not chucks! Those are definitely not a social icon... they're totally awesome and totally retro. I have two pair that are both ratty and stinky but those are pretty much the only shoes I wear. They are soo great! I can't believe you burned them...
