Ok, I showed this to supahsekzy earlier and this is what it looked like.

I worked on it for a little while longer, and here's what it looks like now, at twenty to 3 in the morning.

Far from done, obviously, but I intend to finish it tomorrow, or the day after.

In this one, you'll note the lack of black lines. That's what I was going for. Making the forms look solid, and not drawn. I really wanted to make this one look as though it were really made out of paint, rather than filled lines.

I managed it by making the original photoshop sketch in white, and then duplicating the layer, setting the lower one to overlay, and the top one to color dodge, and dropped the opacity to 50.

Then, I used desaturated colors to separate it into forms, and then, I'll be adding shade obviously. The black that's there now will most certainly change.

Anyway, lemme know what you think, and I'll be posting a finished one relatively soon.

That looks really good man, what is the original size of the image? I think it looks really good and gets what your trying to accomplish with not having outlines across pretty good Nice work dude...

Looking really good. It is really neat to see a piece in progress like this. It helps me not get discouraged that mine are taking so much time.

That last image looks really good, especially the body armor. I am not a big fan of the image itself or the whole style of it, but you did a great job painting it.

Now that I look at it again, his right ( our left) shoulder is a bit low compared to the other one. Looks kinda weird

Ugh...

I ran out of gas on the other one. There's too much wrong to go back and mess with it.

Anyway though, I went back to my old method, and I'm pretty pleased with the results. This is gonna be a cd cover for a local band.
Grayscale
Very preliminary color scheme

I know the abs are messed up, and that there's some shadow issues on the head. Aside from that, I need some fresh eyes to point stuff out to me.

Lemme know what you all think.
