My Splash Page (I am a beginner)

it's pretty simple, so perhaps you could try being more experimental with positioning (it's somewhat conventional/plain at the moment). and will there be a future purpose for your splash page, or is it just there to look pretty? if it's meant to look pretty, then i would suggest something more engaging or exciting, something to make me want to enter the site. hope that wasn't too harsh =P

i mean, simplicity is good (sophisticated, elegant, clean, etc.), and i also like the small scale, lots of negative space. just needs some... oomph, you know?

paperling, if a splash page's purpose was to look pretty in order to entice someone to enter the portfolio, then consider the following: why not just go to the portfolio in the first place so that the viewer doesn't have to decide? That'll eliminate the possibilty that you may unintentionally turn away visitors. Plus you should have an exciting portfolio anyway. ;)

If it's there for a real purpose, then that's fine.

A splash page to hype up my portfolio. Once the portfolio is released, I wont have a splash page.
