Icon of an Archangel (WIP)

WIP of course meaning 'work in progress'

This is a picture I did a couple weeks ago, and I figured I'd color it tonight.

Colored version. The color job took about an hour.

I'll finish it up tomorrow, but I figured I'd show you what I got so far.

Lemme know what you think, or if there's any huge things I should change.

that sketch is really great. Nice work! the coloring, i think could be better... his forehead for example, such a bald shiny head and i think you went a bit overboard with the shading. Also i know the wings are in the bg but maybe you could have spent a little more time with that? the whole thing i think might be nicer with a brighter set of colros or brighter highlights, but all the same it kicks ass.

I really like the drawing, but...I have to admit...I pictured a much cooler looking angel in color. Its still way better than anything I could draw, but I look at it and theres an unnaturalish look to the colored version. It looks like theres light coming from every angle because of his skin, but then his clothes dont really relect that same coloring.
