Filters destroy creativity in most instances. If it was created with a filter, it can be easily re-created. If you made the effect yourself, drew it, whatever, it's a lot more original and creative. You might want to consider that.

Aside from the mosaic filter, what I see in the image are the following:
  • You have an eye for what part of an image makes for an interesting composition
  • You know how to modify colors
  • You know how to stylize an image such that the viewer gets the idea of a rose without too much of it being shown
Each of those techniques in and of themselves can make for a really interesting image. Now, what you should work on for your next composition is leaving the filters out of it, and focus more on blending, color modes and typography. I think you've got a good strart in the above image, now just focus on making the image your own, and when you use filters, you make it belong to photoshop, not yourself. The program is a tool that an artist uses, not the artist itself.

I'll tell you the truth, but it does just look llike a rose ran through a mosaic filter. It would look better how it was. Also next time you should post more than just "here".
Otherwise I should probably just say "where"

Hah, nos. That was mean. Pretty funny though. :D

I don't advocate a "no filter" policy with my work, becuase i think it is a limit and limits suck.

Rather, I'd suggest to not overdo it with filters. You can use filters, but aim to use them tastefully. Using too many filters makes it look noobish and like it was a lack of direction or skill. Tutorials tend to use a lot of filters.

Isn't that what the 11 posts infront of yours say? You don't need to post to agree when 11 posts already say that.

Sorry about that, I just felt I would add my opinion.

I just was saying I don's see this. I see an eye for how to use a mosaic filter for a mosaicy composition..

Step one: Get a few more posts under your belt before you start dissing other members
Step two: Before Dissing other members, or criticising the fact that they're 'noobish' when we've established that they are still in the process of learning design fundamentals, you might want to put up something of your own for critique.

I mean, you've got that sig there, but what else have you got?
Not that it's not impressive, I mean you've made the letters appear to be almost...bevelled, and the way there's that glow on the outer edge of the letters.

Really, how do you do it? I mean, it's so perfectly done, it'a almost as though a computer did it.

Oh wait...

I cracked it.

You double click on the layer.

Before you give other member's sh*t about they're use of filters, keep in mind that layer styles ARE THE EXACT SAME THING.

You don't know how much I put into that signature, so I wouldn't say that kind of stuff. It took me about 2 hours to make, and the letters are custom designed by me, not just some font. I can show you the .PSD if you want. I have posted quite a few things, and just because I'm new to these forums, doesn't mean I can't help critique other people. I am definently not new to photoshop.

I just don't think people should say they anything artistic about him, until he come in here and explain why a mosaic filter is something special.

And you dont know how much Radovan might have put into his picture. You assume as some others have that it was simply made with one filter, but perhaps you should try duplicating what he made with the original picture. More so, you say you're helping to 'critique', yet you only provide the criticism, and no real help in terms of recommendations.
