I like the colors but i think it would help with logo recognition if you moved your 'Soaring designs' logo so it wasnt over the top of the G in the background image.

Font choice is dire. Use a proffesional font and not a free one. Also there are too many font faces for my liking. Oh and just to add comedy value your logo looks the spitting image of the Liberal Democrat Party in the UK. In fact it looks TOO much like it. |

The more I look at your logo and then compare it to the Liberal Democrats Logo, the more disquiet and unease I feel. *edit* In fact unless you can come up with a damn good explanation I am going to call you a ripper, they are not just similar they are the same. |

They arent the same, the logo was edited to avoid any copyright infringements, there are small changes, trust me. There is no way we would have copied and pasted a logo from a well known organization!

edited like you changed "theirs" a bit.....or edit your own creation not to look like theirs? If you edited theirs.....then "small changes" wouldnt fit under the "fair use" agreement (meaning significant original changes) and would be considered a rip. Back to the poster: The main problem : The extreme lack of a focal point! The border has got my eyes going in all sorts of directions, while the typography is trying to suggest diagonal lines, the bg/elements are trying to suggest horizontal lines and the rectangular elements are suggesting vertical lines. You can see my confusion. I dont know where to look, why to look there or where to look next. It needs structure of some sort. A good composition will lead your eye around the artwork. Without a sense of direction.....a composition becomes boring and confusing. My suggestion: Search google for composition guidlines/rules |

one more thing I would have to add.... that tagline it has to go. "...designs that really soar?..." You can make punchlines like that when you are a really large company, that has a some what boring image, so people think they are funny and not just boring and professional. |

I really do beg to differ. I invite you to post both your logo and the Liberal Democrats logo for our inspection. I am not as green as I am cabbage looking. What changes did you make? Flipping the image on a horizontal axis does not count. |

Darn... NL beat me to the tagline issue. Not only is it a poor turn on a phrase, it's a phrase that is turned poorly. Change it or lose it would be my "extreme critique" (be careful what you ask for here). For a design company to even give the impression that they couldn't come up with an original logo for themself is not a good statment. That said, I believe someone else said |

The Soaring Designs logo will be officially changed, I do not wan't to have run in's like this. I agree that it is a problem that we basically duplicated their logo, and that is indeed wrong therefore it will be changed. I did not realize at the time how similar they infact were, I apologize to all who have looked at this. Even though the logo had been made from scratch with the pen, it is almost identical, you are all absolutely right. To have something like this portray our company, it certainly is not a good image. Lack of originality is not a good thing, especially for a web design company! My apologies, Jim |
