So twiddling my thumbs I have been over such a simple process. A logo design concept I've put down on paper. It's located here: . Anyways ... I would like some critique on it. I realise it may be a little hard to interpret due to poor picture quality but basically it's a bunch of skyrises that protrude out from the text that states "OzweegoVille". In the front there should be a pretty vibrant palm tree that makes up one of the "L's". So in short my question. Is there any tutorials that anybody would recommend to get the buildings cartoonish like and also to make cartoonish text. Any font suggestions? How about tutorials of making palm trees? I've yet to see any tutorials but maybe somebody here can help point me in the right direction. I'm a crappy graphic designer/artist so any help would be appreciated! Thanks all. |

The design is leaving me a little cold, although I don't know the end purpose of the graphic. What kind of website do you hope to represent? It all seems a little done before. I could be wrong of course. If you are going for a comic look to the site, may I suggest a browse at www.blambot.com they have some great free fonts and good pay ones. I also want to ask the simple questions too - what colour scheme are you using? why? (can maybe be answered by telling us what the business/concept is) |

Wow, blambot.com was an incredible resource for comic styled fonts. Thanks a million. As for my website. Honestly, it has no purpose. It's got a tad bit of open source, my blog, photos, just alot of misc stuff. Obvioiusly it's got my projects in directX and the games Ive made and such. Mainly OzweegoVille is something I created in my head about five years ago. Hince theMayor of OzweegoVille. As for color, well I was looking for some suggestions. Something wacky and vibrant. I like oranges blues and such which is the general gist of everything however that's what I'm here for. I'm not a graphic designer nor am I an artist(same thing right?) but I do like to program and do alot of backend work for websites. I'd just like to a simple logo that can be vibrant, appealing to the eye and on top of that something semi-original. LIke I said, I'm no artist or graphic designer and I'm only as good as the next guy or gal, ok ok .. probably far less but anywho ... Overall critiques, ideas, thoughts suggestions or anything would be greatly appreciated |

ok, I had to have something different on my mind today... so I fiddled with your logo a bit. here is the result: www.blombomb.com/teamps/ozweegoville.gif and if you want to change anything, like rotate it or change the colors, here is the illustrator file. www.blombomb.com/teamps/ozweegoville.ai |

Wow that's amazing, and what do you mean "something diffrent on my mind today?" I like the cartoon effect. If that was all done by hand I must say that's about a billion times better then I could ever do! Thanks a bunch and I'll definetly take a look, leave as is or even incorperate those ideas into my own. Again thanks a ton!

no problem, and what I meant with 'something different on my mind'... I was working, and I just needed a break from it. So playing with your logo was fun actually. and yes, it was all done by hand. The font of course not, it was the only cartoonish font I had installed, so you might want to change that too. |
