Ive been a web designer for about 5 years and the one thing that drives clients crazy is screen resolution and menu buttons. Having the buttons on the top or top left will make sure that even the simpleist viewer will find them.

It'll be pree annoying to have to scroll down for your navigation though if the content gets heavy. It's not that he can't see the buttons, I think you pree much missed his point. I like the light colour, but your bevels are too big and too dark. Try to tone them down some. Then it should look pree good.

Oh, no no no, lol See the Arrows??? Those are for scrolling text in the Main window, The graphic will be in tables and i'll split it up so that it'll be variable width depending on the users resolution.

I like it man. Im not a web designer yet, but from what I see in the site so far, I wouldnt have trouble finding anything. I like how its simple, but at the same time its not too simple...it still has an edge. The only two things that I cant stand on sites are TOO many buttons, and banners....Of course you dont fit either of those catagories, so your fine.

http://www.designex.net/tppbeta/SiteBETA/ There it is, fully scaleable for any resolution above 1024x768. 800x600 is just medieval and i wont support it... too lazy. |

I like the layout. How did you create those custom shapes for the menu and overall look? Are you using the pen tool in photoshop or something, and just scratching it out line by line? |

I'm not trying to start a resolution war but too lazy to support 800x600 is not necessarily a good idea if this is going to be any kind of commercial site. I guess, like anything, it really depends on your demographics, but to ignore the 800x600 users is to ignore *at least* 1 in 3 users in the general Internet population. If your target audience is a younger demographic, fellow designers, gamers, or other folks who tend to use higher resolutions, then great. If you'll be directing business owners and typical prospective clients to this site as means of soliciting your services for commercial work, you are already putting yourself at a disadvantage. The concept is cool. The "pastel" feel is different but like you said, it's "you". Would be nice to see some real content in the box to know how it's going to mesh with the rest of the look. |

oh, D4TVGFX, Yeah i Tottally agree 100%. For all my commercial/customers sites i had 800x600 support forsure. But this is my personal site, so anyone with 800x600 is just gunna have to raise their resolution, or scroll a bit. If you don thave 800x600 support in commercial sites you shouldnt be web designing. Yeah i agree. As far as designing it? Well... CHANNEL LAYERS! I love em I designed it all with making a template channel layer, then added some effects and bevels to it. I still have to add the rollover animation on the buttons and stuff yet too. The "symbiot"/"Wierdolookingthing" i designed in 3d max 6, and then edited it into the layout. |
