Need help with a 16X12 clan emblem

Hey guys...it's been a while since I've visited Teamphotoshop.

I'm currently playing a MMORPG called Lineage2. Clans within this game of level 3 or higher are awarded an "emblem" to signify their achievements.

You can see the emblems next to each character's name. The last two links are our clan's emblem itself. The image itself is the Chinese symbol for "Blood".

Personally I don't like our design much and I was hoping you guys could help me think of new ideas. I would greatly appreciate it. Feel free to try your own emblem to represent Blood. The graphic dimensions are 16X12.
