the bug is really cool, the background isn't. i suggest you use somehting else. it might be cool if the hilights on the bug were whiter.

that bug would make an ownage logo. but i agree with krane... background is ridiculously over contrasting and diverts the eye from the bug which is clearly the l33test part of the pic :D very nice job :D |

Yep... I agree about the background, the rest of the thing is great though. I really like the detail that you put into the vector. Great transitions of color as well. Nice work

That's a nice bug, and the background does get a bit loud, but it looks like it's on a table cloth under a serious magnifying glass. But like Krane said, boost up the highlights some more and I'm sure it'll look very realistic. All in all tho' man, it's very nice and the shape is realistic. |

Thanks for the replies. I'll give the highlights some wore work - and the background too ... it was a bit late last night.

Id say scrap the background.....and keep developing the bug. I know that little guy has to have variations in his color, diff. textures and so on. Just keep adding detail. Also the drop shadow doesnt work cause 1) you really have no light source 2) he's small...so i dont think a shadow would be that large and 3) its a bit distracting. Keep em vector.
