I dont like it. Reason being.....its too FLAT. If she's decomposing....then there will be multiple layers of skin, then muscle visible nevermind the bumpy/crumbling texture and whatever dirt/grime etc would be gathering on her. There needs to be highlights & shadows not only to give the textures a boost, but the body as a whole needs to look 3d. Also parts of the image (the mouth as a main example) are quite blurry.

I'm not sure what I hate more, the overused black bars over people's eyes or the endless stream of "art" in the form of textured chicks to make it look like they're dead. But whatever floats your boat. It's an alright job, though like Rodder said, it looks really flat. |

I gotta agree too. I mean to some extent....i like the "style"....i like textues...etc, but 98% of these i see are just......unoriginal. No meaning, no story behind it..its just a dead woman. Like i would want clues to why she is dead, or who she was, or anything else...... just something to bring more life into whats just a textured woman. Let me pimp my portfolio for a second (this may be useful...). I got 2 "similar pics" : 1) Absent 2) Moth 1) textured baby (similar to textured woman). But here im playing with the idea of lost childhood memories....so there is much more to it then just the baby. 2) textured woman (very similar lol). But here im playing with the idea of good vs bad, good/evil..happy sadness etc. I use the theme of the moth/butterfly, the bright colors and fairly tale appearance mixed with the statue that could be praying or crying to support my theme. Basically Im taking all the elements and playing them against each other. *end portfolio pimping but seriously..maybe you could improve it offarg...if there was something to the picture/style. Texturing is fine...and quite fun.....but it doesnt make a composition if ya know what i mean. Just some thoughts *end of small rant |
