yeah those are some pretty awesome pictures. I wish I wasnt so self-conscious. The things I like to take pictures of aren't really normal and I get some really wierd looks sometimes. I guess it doesn't really matter, but I always think that someone from school that I know is going to drive by and then Ill be shunned for the rest of my natural existence. Or something like that. And I wish I had a better camera. This point-and-shoot POS is no good (Kodak DX3600). *meh* |

how do you get such nice, saturated colors? Leave the lens open longer? do you carry a tripod around in your jacket too? tell us your secrets!

Deker - :P Well those photos I took a few years ago when I didn't even have my own camera... Yes tripod is a very good thing even though I didn't have one when I took these. And yes I try to use the flash as little as possible...it kills the colors... But if it's a dark place it's impossible to take a good photo without a tripod. But my tripod is pretty big so I can't bring it with me...but everytime I go out to photo I take it with me... But really I don't know much about photographing...Just trying new things and ways to take photos everyday... And I look at many photo sites on the net and I get a lot of ideas and inspiration from that... Someday I would really want to take some photos of something that I have put up... Like built for one day...something really wierd...and then get some models and some lights and then just shoot all day long... Because now I'm just taking photos of what I see... |

Well there is an idea lol. I know all about the "design" portals....but never thought much about broswing photography sites. True. One trick i do know though....is many photographers put yellow colored tape over the flash, which tones down the intensity yet still provides a reasonable amount of light (i think anyway :-D ). Im not sure, but im guessing many use the color yellow as sun light (i may be wrong). Also other colors have been used (depending on what colors u want in the photo). |
