I meant it was immature, the vibe that you get with the whole "Leave the bitch she only gets to ya ONCE" etc. It might be an arright thing to say to someone when they've been burned, but I dont know if I'd base a piece of art on it.

you don't know if you'd base a piece of art on it?
when I sit and strum around in a manner consumed with the construction of a tune I have never heard before. I never try to think of a tune before I've tried playing. because when I do that, I find that the art I constructed with careful planning, is never ever as better as what riffs I find by chance when I'm not actually thinking?

not every form of art is as liberating as smashing a load of strings in any order, in time together, and if at the end, they thought that time it sounded better, you know by the end of the week it''ll a really live one humdinger !!

I did have a point here.... you should never consider approaching art with pre-defined ideals of how you think you wouldn't - better to begin with a choice of options with which none of them you had some kind of plan

this is just my view you understand?

Stunty, You should seriously reread your post. And then maybe take some English classes. It took me 3 rereads to understand your post.

What I think you meant to say is, "You should not make a piece of art with a definition of what you would NOT do in the piece." Which is wrong. It is from past experience that you know what is wrong and what is right. Otherwise you would be making the same mistakes over and over again.

You learn from past mistakes and then you don't do them again. Approaching a piece of art with pre-defined ideals of wrongness, considering past failures, is a smart way to approach art.

Yes, it is cool to do art spur-of-the-moment, but if you're going about it three-sheets-to-the-wind, throwing away all prior knowledge or experience... that is not smart.

And just like making up a guitar riff, making up art may start out from something completely random, but after the "random idea" has been taken down and put into execution, you have to end up following some kind of plan to undertake that "random idea".

Just like when you noodle around with a guitar and end up getting something nice, it isn't until after repetitive practice and tweaking and pounding out the rough edges do you get a riff that is really, as you would say, a "humdinger."

The same goes for art - you can come up with the idea offhand in a second, but to carry out the plan... it takes time and direction.
