OK. So after the christmas blender crazyness (Misc section) I made myself a smoothie...and for some sick demented reason I had to photograph it. Then added with my fustration of larger works and deep meanings (and crap) I whipped this up for pure fun (er....yeah).

- Vanilla extract
- Vanilla yogurt
- Sugar
- Orange Juice

:-D

lol - if you actually wanted comments...
- the glass is at a slight angle (not 100% vertical)
- too many different fonts used
- nice - you think it would work to fedex me one?

yes, the glass needs to be rotated to the left slightly and the fonts suck. you should find some free smooth and wacky fonts. i'm not sure about the heavy black on the two shapes in the background. what if they're a fruit color?

yeah the glass was a quick photo...meaning no lighting...i just held the camera instead of having a flat surface and poped up the flash. Fonts suck...etc lol. I know its not great or anything...just a stress relieving moment of insanity.

On the other hand.....i am thinking about re-doing this as a fictional beverage ad i could put in my portfolio....which would include re-photographing etc. any ideas? should i go forward....

Definately go for it. Frost the glass first (freezer), and dont write anything on the glass. Go to www.dafont.com for fonts. But dont use too many different ones on it. The fonts on this one were fine, but you used like 5.

How did it taste?

Frost the glass

Thats a bitchin idea. Im not sure what it would look like....but i bet it would look sweet with good lighting...maybe simliar to how snow has the sparkle effect on sunny days or something.

As to dafont.com...i cant... due to my strict font policies lol. Im guessing either arial or times would work just fine....and maybe i can design a special drop-cap or logo-ish element. Im currently looking up ad's and food photography so i'll see what kinda idea i can pull from it.

How did it taste?

It was def. worth that amount of calories in that sucker lol

Yeah. That definitely sucks, lol, but the ideas stewing right now sound nice hahahha

Ditch the background of that, the black lines are retarded...

ok......here is the current mug im drinking out of (cant have 2 smoothies in a day...also im a mug freak). I decided to just do a little photography study for the moment. I tried to get an over saturated very clean/crisp magazine look.

- Cleaned photo first
- orig photo second

and this i would like some opinions on :D

Photo study

what i did:

- masked mug and background separately
- smoothed out the noise of the background
- desaturated the glass only (not the liquid)
- overlayed the glass with a slight blue tint
- overlayed the glass & tint with a light yellow (that dark yellow...green kinda shadowy look)
- brightened the liquid (contrast with the BG)
- added red reflection to floor/wall shadow
- used levels to clean the mug
- painted the white spot on the wall

i woulda posted in photography....but its all related to this thread...so why start a new one? lol

Yeah. That definitely sucks

Yup. it sucks monkey nuts lol. But this freaky process is gettin my mind working again. Havnt really thought creatively in 5 or 6 er so months now.
