I know I'm not that good at sketching but here are two I did today - anything I should be doing differently to make me better?

Nope, for sketches they are great.

Sketches shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Then you take your sketches and apply them to something bigger. Keep a pencil and pad of paper with you where ever you go and build up a collection of these. I think they are great.

yea, I really like the first one.
Sketches, as terry said, are things you do "on-the-fly"
(flies are small! < /ralph wiggum>) ...shut up, Ralph.

I think they're good, and what you should do different?
Well, I'd suggest you use a softer pencil, and use a lesser amount of strokes, would make it look cooler and go faster.

But have some confidence in yourself, you do have talent.

Dude, in all honesty, I would love to have that tissue box picture on my wall. Is there any chance you can get a higher quality scan of it?

I hate drawing sketches but that's because I really can't draw at all by hand.
But it's a really good thing to do.
I have always been learned that I should do that.
With everything.
But naah I'm just lazy.
When I was working for a commercial agency or what they are called in english, well they allways made these kick ass sketches of everything and then gave them to eachother so everyone could get some ideas from it and work on them on the computer.

And yup those are some really good sketches!
Wish I could make something like that too...

Yes, you can make them better by posting them in the correct forum. Yes I know it says "digital work" or whatever, but it's still artwork that should go there not in misc.
