HA funny... Thats different... I don't see why make a picture with swastikas in it when it offends so many people. Same reason why I wouldn't make a picture with a bunch of KKK **** all over it saying "WHITE SUPREMACY!" and writting N***ER all over it. It's NOT cool... |

Your missing the point dude. It's political satire. Does it condone being a Nazi anywhere there? It's mocking old Nazi propaganda, and its a well done job. Its all done tactfully, and thats the key. There aren't images of the holacaust, dead bodies, or smiling Nazi soldiers, it's mearly a statement. Did the movie "Schindlers List" offend people? No, because it was the context the movie took. They needed to throw in swastikas and Nazi Germany in the film, but they weren't the point. Again, he also lives somewhere where there is a lot of history. Maybe down in Georgia the KKK is an issue with you, so express your opinion about it creatively. Maybe you are just too young and don't understand what we are trying to say. Lil' Kim is definately a thousand times more offensive then Paavo's work. |

First off, CUP. Paav didn't make a nazi propaganda pic and wrote "white supremacy" - "pure races" or anything else as dumb as you suggest. Second he didn't, in any way, put down the Jews in those pic's. For cryin out loud, man. Do you have any sarcastic-ironic bone in you ? Of course the interpretation of a pic lies with the beholder, so you got a tiiiiiiiny point, but the meaning of a piece should be concidered as well I think, and if one would ask Paav was his intentions was with a certain pic, one could ask in a way that didn't suggest that he was a nazi, but mearly a question like "hey man, what is the intention with these pics, are you just trying to make a point, and how do you mean..." instead of sayin - That indicates (to me) that you, seriously, think that Paav has nazi sympathies, and in my book that is a dangerous thing to put out there...Think before you post such stuff, even if the intention was not to offend/flame, but just to wonder...I mean, what if somebody would indicate in anyway that you do have KKK sympathies...? Hm ? would you like that. Now I know whats comin - "I haven't made any pics that could indicate that" - Well, that isn't the issue here, I think. What would you think if it happened ? Oh, oh... What do you think of me when I say that I just luve jokes about jews, nazis and black people ? Am I a rasist-nazi ? As somebody said earlier, we have a slightly different history over here, regarding nazis, then folks from ie Atlanta. And remarks like yours could really be offensive to a bunch of people and we reserv us the right to deal with that history as it pleases us... I have a relative that was put in Kazetlager, Latvia, wich was a workcamp...She was lucky enough to come there near the end of the war, so she got out while alive. Otherwise she would have been shipped to a exterminationcamp, like Treblinka, Auschwitz or something to be gased to death... I do not take offense by Paav's pic's, 'coz I don't think they're pronazi, but I do from the tone in your question to Paav, indicating something someone would not be associated with - Now, I might be wrong here, and put something in your posts that is not intended. In such case I appologize. But in such case I do urge you to use a different language in your question than you did in the above quote. If you were right, tho, and somebody had nazi sympathies, I would join in with you and go at them...But I think it is important to clearify that first without any aggresive suggestions... (with all due respect and appologies in advance if someone is taking this the wrong way, its hard to make a point in an other language than your native tounge) -Patric. |

i see you dont see the purpose of art then?? The purpose of all art is to make people react, in either way.. To offend people isnt necessarelly a bad thing, you see.. Havent you ever heard the saying "Bad publicity is better than no publicity" .. that goes for art too.. An artist would rather have people talking about his work, good or bad, offended or not, than not talk about it at all.. |
