I have been working with Illustrator for only a few hours now, just started working with it in class.

Our project is to vectorize the Cup.PSD tutorial image.

Here is my crack at it. If you have any suggestions or comments feel free to give me any pointers, I just started working with the program and could use any help you guys could give.

If you want to see the original it should be embeded in your PS or Illustrator under the tutorial section.

It is entirely vector

Some of the layers were blurred in Illustrator to soften the edges.

I assure you it is 100% Illustrator

The goal was to match the original image as best as possible.

Because Illustrator was used the image is now infinitely scalable.

That's really awsome!
How ever you did it...
Only thing is that the shadow maybe could use some work.
It looks jagged somehow...
And why is there a really soft red light in that mug?
Or is it just my monitor?
I really thought it was done with 3d studio max or some other 3d program...Love it!

Yes, I agree the hard shadow is jagged for some reason. I am going to redo it.

I do not think there is a red light on the mug, but then again the output for this picture is going to be B&W so its good either way.
