I'm liking it all. The colors, the imagery, the transitions. However, the girl with the chair at the end just don't fit. But other than that... it's fscking awesome! |

Awesome. Really and truly awesome. I'm interested to know how you did some of that, too. There are a couple things that I don't like about it, though. The girl in the corner - her low opacity doesn't fit, I'm afraid. Make the corner darker and more desolate - maybe add a little texture to the chair (somehow) - and the chair will fit perfectly. Also, I don't really like the sperm cell (?) on the wall next to the girl. Isn't blurry/noisy enough for graffiti - looks kinda like clipart. It's an awesome graphic, but it needs some noise/blur/lower opacity or something. Can we see the stock pics you used, please? Do you have a wacom? tom |

I think it is awesome - the thing that is a bit unsettling about the girl is that I think she is too low - her feet (imagined) get cut off by the floor and her belly by the edge of the chair - that should be where the buttocks are... the transitions are really flowing and it is among the best collages I ever seen |

The girl was supposed to have a more specter-like look to it, but I probably left out the darker motif I was planning on putting there. Oops I guess. Aaaand, time to scour inertia stock.xchng for the photos ... From inertia stock.xchng: a-e_01-windowclaws.jpg a-e_01-museumhall.jpg a-e_01-buildingfloor.jpg a-e_01-trash.jpg a-e_01-chair.jpg a-e_01-eye.jpg a-e_01-pebbles.jpg From my own insane paper stabbing session and scanner side order: a-e_01-holes.jpg From my own twisted imagination (marker sketches): a-e_01-dw_robo.jpg a-e_01-dw_spermie.jpg And to answer Censured’s question, from the left, the “claws” are drawn … the soft glowing orbs are drawn … the mcpx tag is drawn … the wings and shadows are drawn … the big robot head on the wall is drawn … and the mechanical spermie is drawn. I used the Pen tool to recreate the curves of the window’s frame, and used gradients and Burn tool accordingly until they all fit seamlessly. The wall of the building was cropped and rotated, and a pseudo-shadow was applied to it. The hall was darkened and colored blue. Then the pebbles I cropped out of the photo and made it look like it’s sitting on top of everything. The some of the bricks on the trash wall were erased, while others had shadows on them to make them look like they weren’t part of a wall before. I stabbed a hole through the wall by taking the scanned holes, jacking up the Levels of that layer and set it on multiply, after which I erased a little part of the hole and let the eye show through, which was burned and color changed. The wings were taken from my source logo .psd, rendered to Paths, rotated/skewed, and then filled. I gave them a fake sense of depth by taking advantage of the nudge option. The robot head on the wall was also skewed so it looks like it was part of it. That, too, had the multiply mode applied to it. I just added an extra outline and a white filling to make it stand out more (had to edit parts of it out so the bar that’s leaning on the wall will show through; the shadow had to be recreated). From the right of the trash layer, I made the door’s arch end at its maximum point and erased the door. The shadow on the base of the arch was a bit hurried, that’s why it looks really out of place. I had to tweak the shadows on the trash layer first; the shadows on the wings had to conform to the bed, and the rubble lying on the floor had to cast some sort of shadow on the chair layer. I did the same thing to the spermie like I did to the robot head, except I changed it’s color to orange-ish. |

I enjoy it even more now. It's fun chasing separate pics on a collage... I really like the spermie thing |
