Yay for filters are tutorials. They're fine for first ones... I mean hell, we all started out this way.

Keep on practicing.

you go on to making stuff with less and less filter use. If you keep at it, eventually you'll realize that filters aren't all that great.

maybe convert drawings into photoshop files, color them in or something like that. That's mainly what I do now.

But that is what abstract and vail are, I based that off the the "Abstract" tutorial on the website. No filters were involved, only my stuff, as you can tell because of the reason of error. ThePiano, and the other have filters applied to them because they looked so pretty . heh

Hey, explain something to me...I've gone from "ass-using" (that means alot) filters of various kind to just use native filters sometime (thats the way I guess everyone goes when starting out with PS or atleast many people do that...).

Are even native filters "banned" (misunderstand me correctly;))...Should one not use filters at all ? Isn't that kinda hard ? I mean to do tentacles U need shearfilter ie....

The only filters I really use are gaussian blur, motion blur, and radial blur. I mean sure I use others, but not as much as those three.

DarkDruid - make some photocomposistions using more than one photo. Make some collages or something. Or you could try "chopping" something. Like take a wolf head and put it on top of a human and make it look real. Then add a cool background and a moon and some cool type. Or something like that - just mess around, and try to get away from all the different filters a little.
