And some atomiclike thingie, I did foolin' around a bit, and that's here Think something out loud...The graffiti is my first try, did it after Paav's tut ;) I saw something when editing this...The top of the last A in Wowza...That isn't very nicely done, what a feckup...Fix it later... |

cool. Im not a graffiti guy.....but i'll give c&c a go. I think wowza is too clean. maybe it needs more dirty or a little more transparency. It needs to just blend in with the metal a little more...so it looks like it was sprayed on in a hurry....not painted by picasso (if that makes sense). but good work anywho :-P

I'm no graffititguy either, but I thought I'd give it a go...It's fun learning new stuff... And yea, I thought it was to clean...perhaps I should've chosen a more...rough surface to begin practising with, eh ? Any tips on the "up roughening" on such a flat-simple surface? I should perhaps have kept the colorization a bit more sharp and then lowered the opacity, I did the other way around, I think.... |

First off - no point telling us to copy and paste if you don't write the link. But its OK, we just click the link, add a space to the URL, and press enter. hmmmm...It looks a little too clean. I'm not sure if Paavo does this, but get the Natural Brushes and choose spray paint. Also you should fill it like you did it quickly. Things should overlap each other - like the highlight and the border. Then you should desaturate the background behind the tag (learned that one from Paavo). Also, to make it look really real, make it straight across first. -------------------- -------------------- Like that and then distort it. Get some guides out or draw a line so that you can keep it straight. Have you read Paavo's grafitti tutorial? http://www.astudios.org go there now. tom |

Firts off, thx for the pointers...Really need them it seems ;) Hehe, rightclick/copy shortcut ;) ? I actually tried to fill it like I did it quickly, did not get the hang of it I guess...I will practise some more with diff brushes and soforth.. Overlapping - Well, I blame that on the fact that I'm no "graffiti'er", just wanted to try out the tech... Desaturate - I did one taglayer more and put that below the colorized one and desaturated that, is that what you mean... Straight across - Well, did that aswell and then distorted it... Hmmm, didn't have many rights in my first graffiti it seems, must go practise some more...Will post a better (hopefully) one later... Patric. |

For your very first graffiti, its not to bad. Looks very jagged though. I cant really say anything about that because mine looks the same. It is because Im using a mouse. I need a Wacom.

The edges are very rough; if someone was really doing graffiti on a train, I assume he'd do it very fast so as not to get caught. so the lines would be drawn fast and thus the edges would be smooth; yours lookslike the borderlines were drawn by an unsteady hand moving the paint can very slowly.

Thx for your replies, guy's...I agree, supah. I guess it's beacause I also use a mouse and due to my lack of sexual satisfaction, I tend to be kinda...unsteady ;) I am fully aware of the fact that it should be more smooth, and I will try and work on that somehow... *figures on how to get a woman so he can draw straigh tomorrow* |
