I'm the forum n00b, remember - So don't laugh at the following question. How did you get the font like that? |

He made the font. Then he CTRL-clicked the layer to load the selection. Then he unclicked the eye to hide the layer. Then he made a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer which only altered the selection (by default). Try it out - thats how I made my sig. tom |

you can get virtually the same effect by setting the blending mode of the font layer to 'soft light'.

Er... yeah. That's one way. I just changed the blending mode (tap that ususally says "normal" on the layers window) to overlay. Then I clicked ctrl-T (edit >>> transform) and rotated it. |

Looks nice, but here comes my comments...(uh oh) Its such a nice looking pic, I personally think the images on the side are useless. Or maybe its that they need better treatment. They are sorta just there, they aren't adding to the image, they sort of detract from the big one. Same with the text. It's a good idea, but its too middle ground. It has little impact, and if thats what you want, then make it even more subtle. Its just too middle of the road plain. Maybe its the jpeg, but did you run unsharp mask? That would help it a lot. Anyways, its a slick photo. Really pretty to look at. A compliment to anyones portfolio. I just think the stuff that you did do it really isnt finished or thought through enough. Either spice it up, or make it more subtle, I think that will help. ![]() |
